Wizard of the Orb [EXE] [DATA]
« on: June 01, 2009, 10:31:04 AM »

Dear Friends:

This is the game I made in amospro. It is called wizard of the orb. The file is both the executable plus the graphics data.  You should be able to run the game just by clicking on its icon. A requester will ask you where is the dir for the gfx data, so that it can load the pics. Tell me what you think.
It is a rpg fantasy simulation, created by me in amospro.

Hi!

I cannot get the game to find the directory. First time I chose 2) Fer Hard Drive, but it then asked for Work: to be inserted. I then tried 3)File Path, I entered the path, but once it had loaded, it quit to Workbench saying there is a file missing.

Dear Friend:

I just installed the game on my pc winUAE and it worked fine.
I created a special folder called -amos- (w/o the -), then extracted all files from lha to it. The amos folder was in the pc hd, on the first root (ex if you click on the C: directory icon, amos folder is there.)
I then ran WinUAE on my pc. I selected winUAE config w add pc drives at startup. Once the amigaOS is on, I just go to the amos folder (in my pc the hd is called WinDH_C) and click on the executable icon for wiz. Now on to the directory requester, when starting do not select fer hd (that is only for my personal amiga dir.)Start with selecting option #3, I put on it
WinDH_C:amos/
or replace by the right dir, where all the pic files was extracted to.
Remember, start w option #3 when it requests the dir. Do not choose #2.
I just did all this and the game works fine.
Please let me know if you could make it work.

Same happened to me, it worked by option 3 full path EG: Work:game/folder/

remember the last slash :)

Pretty cool game ! It was hard to know which keyboard keys to use or how to quit game.

keep it up !

Dear Friend:

I am happy you enjoyed the game. If you press 'h' key it will be the help page, and shows all of the keys with their commands.
