PSPUAE V0.80 BETA 3 on PSPGo
« on: May 16, 2010, 12:36:05 PM »

Hi,

Thought I would start a new thread, PSPUAE now runs flawless on PSPGo via the Patapon2 Demo Exploit.
I have a few more things to do, I plan on trying to integrate both Standard and FameC versions together.

I also want to try and gain some speed we loose by using the latest toolchain (someone switched to -O2, so its slower).

Jeez, I didn't even know the pspGo had been hacked to run homebrew and Emu's, thought it was just about proof of concept videos!!

So you have pspuae running on your PSPgo, very intresting FOL, what firmware have you got on your GO?
I need to look into this news, maybe its time to blow the cobwebs off my GO, its hardly seen light of day since Xmas, just been using it as a glorified MP3 player!

time to do some searching about!!

Thanx for the tip, still need some researching....not much time today unfortunately, at least  I have FW 6.20 on my PSPgo so I'm hopeful.

Good luck with the Beta 3 FOL, you might actually be helping Sony to shift a few PSPgo's off the shelves with this good news LOL  :o

Thankfully, PSPUAE works perfect with sound.

Not had any success running PSPUAE 0.72 or Famec 0.72, just get a black screen, then pspGo  powers off. Sadly this seems to be common with many Emu's and homebrew (I had a look through the comments)
The only one I've tried and got working is PicoDrive1.51b without sound.
Tried and failed with these s9xTYLmecm, NesterJ_v1_11, PSPUAE 0.72 FAMEC 0.72, PSPVICE.

Does this mean Devs have to redevelop their PSP emulators to work on the PSPgo?

Yep,

As we are limited by what modules the game (patapon2 demo) loads and gives access to.
In this case, its ONLY user mode. As PSPUAE has always worked in usermode we are fine, ;).

Obviously, I had to update a few things and dump some uneeded code. I should have ages ago, this just pushed me into doing it.
Plus I worked out the problem I had when compiling with new toolchain, so we keep the speed of current PSPUAE release.

Ill upload something tonight, the only problem I did find is that you cant save state.

I dont think I would have bought a pspGo, unless it could run emu's and homebrew, the Missus got mine Emu lol.

It's a redundant MP3 MP4 player with 32gig storage. It's a nice gadget with arkward controls for much of the PSP's games, playing killzone liberation is very difficult on the tough stages, mainly due to the poor pspgo's control layout.

The pspGo does have the best feeling analogue control, compared to the PSP1000,PSP2000. I agree with FOL, the screen is much crisper and brighter, mainly due to the slightly smaller size.

I guess paying nearly 200 quid for a PSPgo is kinda daft, but isn't paying 400 quid for a mobile phone?

If it runs amiga games on the go, its a worthy gadget  8)

i'm glad FOL pointed out that he had pspuae running on his Go, I wasn't aware that it was possible.
I know lots of people wont be to intrested, probably because they dont own a pspGO but how many  people will go out and buy one, if all the emu's and homebrew are made available?
